Sharon: Kasey and I had this pedicure by FISH!!! 12/04/2011

Hey there wondie crew,

Well it's been a hectic week in wonderland we have been non stop since we landed in Ireland last week with press, tv, interviews everything, you name it. But one thing is for sure it has been amazing you guys have been outstanding.

Every night we walked out onto that stage in Dublin and Belfast and the crowd was so loud.  To think it was Belfast last year where it all started for us on the Westlife tour. I can't believe it’s come to the end of another tour where does the time go? Honest it’s gone way to fast!! But the exciting thing is we’re off to LA to shoot our video for ‘Starlight’. So very very excited about that, we’re also getting to sing for a very special person out in LA I won’t tell you who yet as it is a secret ahhhhh, (I want to tell you all ) ha ha lol...

I've packed my case and all for LA - loads of clothes from dresses to t-shirts to jeans as you never know what the weather will be like. We’re leaving Dublin on Monday morning to go to LA, on the way we stop off at Chicago, I'll be taking loads of pictures for you guys so don't worries well keep you informed, I’ll tweet a few pictures at night!!

We had styling the other day for ‘Starlight’ and the clothes are really us!!  We’re so excited for you to see. So I have a little story from the other day – we were flying to Glasgow to do The Young Scot awards, we were at the airport and Kasey and I had this pedicure by FISH!!! Yes fish - so strange it felt so weird and we were freaked out by it, but as we couldn’t really resist we stuck our feet in and the fish went mad. Like they were never fed in their little lives (God bless them) you see they eat your dead skin cells so at first it’s like jelly fish at your feet and after a while you kinda get used to it. I have to say it was  one of the maddest sensations ever!!!

So while Kasey and I were sitting there getting our feet chewed by little fish our plane was called out for final boarding call so we had to jump up dry our feet and I don’t think we have ever run as fast  to a plane!!

Well guys I am off to my bed as it is quite late now and I’ll keep you all informed on LA baby !!!!!!
Don't forget to follow me on twitter for daily updates on @sharwonderland

So for now it's over and out WONDERLANDARMY

Sharon xx

New Wonder-cam Flip & news on Mission 2! 12/04/2011

Last week we set the Wonderland Army your first mission – to show us how you have been promoting the girls in any way at all.

The Army leaders sent in all their groups’ hard work and WL HQ went through everyone’s terrific videos, banners, cover versions, T shirts and more!

But we decided our first winner was Wonderland army Manchester. From the group we thought Rachel’s cover of ‘Nothing Moves Me Anymore’ and Ell’s banner for Manchester’s Big Wheel were really great.

Because the team won, Rachel and Ell will both receive DVDs of the ITV2 show from last year and signed postcards from the girls. The Manchester Army also got to see a new Wonder-cam FLIP before anyone else!

But you can now watch it on www.youtube.com/wonderlandofficial Stay tuned for more news on Mission 2 – coming later today!

Wonderland - Rolling In The Deep (Adele cover)

Wow The amazon Wonderland Singing - Rolling In The Deep

White Rose Shopping Centre’s night for the girls

IF you’re wanting a night out with the girls then an event at the White Rose Shopping Centre could be just what you’re looking for.
The White Rose and 96.3 Radio Aire are hosting Leeds’ biggest ever girls night in on April 20.
Ladies from across the city are invited to the exclusive free event, which will see music, fashion and treats combined. Hosting the evening will be JK and Joel, with music acts The Hoosiers and Wonderland both joining the party and performing special live sets on the evening.
Three-piece band The Hoosiers have just released their new single Bumpy Ride and previous hits include Good Night Mr A and Worried About Ray.
Wonderland are a new five-piece girl band put together by X Factor judge and music manager Louis Walsh and co-managed by Westlife’s Kian Egan.
As well as live musical performances, ladies will also be treated to exclusive offers and treats from retailers across the centre and will also receive an Ultimate Girls Night In goody bag, containing a host of treats and exclusive offers. The event will take place after usual shopping hours, with the centre being transformed into the ultimate girly haven. Doors will open at 8.30pm and admittance will be strictly ticket only, which are now available to pick up from the shopping centre’s customer service centre or by listening to 96.3 Radio Aire.
Tickets are free but limited, so anyone wanting to attend the event is urged to get theirs quickly to avoid disappointment.
Paul Smith, marketing manager at the White Rose, said: “We’re really excited about hosting the Ultimate Girls Night In, which is set to be an extravaganza of live music, fashion and special treats.
“We wanted to create an exciting event that combined music with fashion and by working with 96.3 Radio Aire we’ve been able to do it. The Hoosiers and Wonderland are both great bands and we know they’ll blow the crowd away, as will the special offers and goodies that retailers in the centre will be offering on the evening.
“It’s set to be a really fun night for girls across the city and the perfect start to the Easter weekend. Tickets are free and will go quickly, so anyone wanting to come should get theirs as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Olly Murs set to dazzle young Scots at Glasgow award night

Olly Murs set to dazzle young Scots at Glasgow award night

Olly Murs has arrived in Scotland for a special guest appearance at the 2011 Young Scot Awards.
The Please Don’t Let Me Go star is due to entertain over 500 of Scotland's youth and celeb guests as they join together to celebrate some of the young people's amazing achievements.
Speaking ahead of the event, the 26-year-old said he couldn’t wait to meet the nominees and their families at the glitzy award ceremony at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel.
“It is important to encourage the young, regardless of what they are doing,” he told the Daily Record.
"These kids show amazing courage and they are so mature. Some of the things they cope with are incredible.
"Their belief in themselves is inspiring - and they still smile no matter what happens to them.”
He added: “One of the best things about being a pop star is that me being there helps them to have a better time. You can change people's lives and make their day - I love it.
“I hope I can add something to it for them, that they enjoy the performance and they like me when we meet."
Joining Olly Murs with an X-tra special performance is Shayne Ward. New girl band Wonderland will also take to the stage to make sure the Young Scots have a great night.
Radio Clyde DJ Romeo will host the night as 14 awards ranging from sports to volunteering to entertainment will be presented to the youth nominees.

WE KINDA WANT TO BE IN A GIRL BAND NOW TOO!

Louis Walsh's new girl band Wonderland - aka Sharon Condon, Corrina Durran, Leigh Learmont, Kasey Smith, and Kian from Westlife's wife Jodie Albert - have certainly been busy bees lately!
After touring with Westlife, recording their debut album, and jetting off to an amazingly gorge location in LA to film the vid for latest single Not A Love Song, we're surprised they're still standing.

But still strutting in their heels they are - which is just as well! - and the lovely things that they are, the Wonderland girls have given us some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of them making their first ever music video!

What do you think of Wonderland? Like Not A Love Song? Comments please!

Wonderland

Jodi Albert on her new girlband Wonderland, and why she gets no favours from husband and manager Kian Egan

Wonderland, with managers Louis Walsh and Kian Egan

Dawn Collinson talks to singer Jodi Albert about her new group and auditioning for her husband
BEING managed at work by your partner could be a problem for some couples.
But for former Hollyoaks actress turned singer Jodi Albert, nothing could be further from the truth.
Although her new band is supporting husband Kian Egan’s Westlife on arena dates around the UK, it’s more a case of ships that pass in the night – one in a van, one on a tour bus.
“We’ve been doing school tours and radio interviews as well, so we’re in a van and Kian will be with the boys on their bus,” smiles Jodi. “We’ll see each other at the arena and then me and the girls go off somewhere else.
“It’s like, ‘hi, here’s the backing track, love you, bye ..’ and then we’re off again!”
Wonderland, Jodi’s five-piece girlband, were put together more than two years ago by Louis Walsh and Kian. She jokingly insists, though, that there was never any chance of favouritism.
“Oh my God, he would absolutely have told me if I wasn’t good enough,” she laughs. “In fact he wouldn’t have let me go to the audition. He didn’t let his own sister go, that’s how professional he was about it.
“Anyone who knows Kian knows he’s very honest and he’s worked very hard to build up a reputation in this business so it would do him no good to put me in on a favour.
“Don’t get me wrong, it was probably one of the hardest auditions I’ve ever had to do and I’ve been to a lot of auditions in my life. But I just had to grit my teeth and go for it, and forget for a second about everything else. I thought to myself, I either want to do this and get signed or I can get silly about it and then I may as well just go home.
“So I closed my eyes when I auditioned – I didn’t look at anyone! Louis kept saying to me ‘you close your eyes too much’ but I think I was just trying to block everything out and be in my own little world. I couldn’t let my brain think about how Kian might be reacting or look for little signs because it would have driven me mad.”
It seems a long time since the five girls were first hand-picked in Dublin back in 2008.
Only now are they ready to release their debut single Not a Love Song, but 27-year-old Jodi says it’s been time well spent.
“We didn’t know each other when the band first came together, so it’s given us time to develop in a really natural way,” she explains. “We’ve grown as a band and it’s all happened at a lovely pace, without any pressure.

When we were in the studio recording our album together we were learning about each other and becoming friends. I think that’s worked now because we’re just so enjoying the whole process and we’ve got this really strong bond, like a little sisterhood.”
For Londoner Jodi, Wonderland is a second chance at pop stardom. She was first in a girlband aged just 15, when she was signed by Simon Cowell.
That lasted just two years and Jodi admits she thought her music career was probably over.
“That band gave me my first taster of this job,” she says. “When it finished at 17 I became a backing dancer, dancing in music videos and stuff like that, and then I jumped into acting and got into Hollyoaks. Now I’ve jumped back.
“But if I’m honest I didn’t think I’d ever be in a band again. The first experience didn’t put me off, I loved it, but I just didn’t think I’d get another opportunity. So when Louis heard me sing on a demo and asked me to audition, I couldn’t believe I was being given a second shot. That’s why I just went for it and grabbed it with both hands and I haven’t looked back since.”
Supporting Westlife and an appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival last year have seen Wonderland play in front of crowds upwards of 85,000. Their debut single has entered the iTunes chart at number seven, and it seems their patience is about to be rewarded.
“A while ago, we’d have these conversations and say ‘imagine next year when we’re on tour’ or ‘imagine what it’ll be like when we do our first TV show.’ Now it’s becoming a reality and all these imagines are starting to happen.”
So, singing now comes first, but Jodi says she’ll always appreciate the profile which three years on Hollyoaks gave her and the fun she had.
“Oh I absolutely loved it,” she smiles. “I love Liverpool, it’s one of my favourite cities in the world. Every time I go back I get a homely feeling. When I look back on that time it was like being in college, it was an amazing point in my life and I’ll always be grateful for it.”
