White Rose Shopping Centre’s night for the girls
Published on Wednesday 6 April 2011 10:34
IF you’re wanting a night out with the girls then an event at the White Rose Shopping Centre could be just what you’re looking for.
The White Rose and 96.3 Radio Aire are hosting Leeds’ biggest ever girls night in on April 20.
Ladies from across the city are invited to the exclusive free event, which will see music, fashion and treats combined. Hosting the evening will be JK and Joel, with music acts The Hoosiers and Wonderland both joining the party and performing special live sets on the evening.
Three-piece band The Hoosiers have just released their new single Bumpy Ride and previous hits include Good Night Mr A and Worried About Ray.
Wonderland are a new five-piece girl band put together by X Factor judge and music manager Louis Walsh and co-managed by Westlife’s Kian Egan.
As well as live musical performances, ladies will also be treated to exclusive offers and treats from retailers across the centre and will also receive an Ultimate Girls Night In goody bag, containing a host of treats and exclusive offers. The event will take place after usual shopping hours, with the centre being transformed into the ultimate girly haven. Doors will open at 8.30pm and admittance will be strictly ticket only, which are now available to pick up from the shopping centre’s customer service centre or by listening to 96.3 Radio Aire.
Tickets are free but limited, so anyone wanting to attend the event is urged to get theirs quickly to avoid disappointment.
Paul Smith, marketing manager at the White Rose, said: “We’re really excited about hosting the Ultimate Girls Night In, which is set to be an extravaganza of live music, fashion and special treats.
“We wanted to create an exciting event that combined music with fashion and by working with 96.3 Radio Aire we’ve been able to do it. The Hoosiers and Wonderland are both great bands and we know they’ll blow the crowd away, as will the special offers and goodies that retailers in the centre will be offering on the evening.
“It’s set to be a really fun night for girls across the city and the perfect start to the Easter weekend. Tickets are free and will go quickly, so anyone wanting to come should get theirs as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
Olly Murs set to dazzle young Scots at Glasgow award night
Olly Murs has arrived in Scotland for a special guest appearance at the 2011 Young Scot Awards.
The Please Don’t Let Me Go star is due to entertain over 500 of Scotland's youth and celeb guests as they join together to celebrate some of the young people's amazing achievements.
Speaking ahead of the event, the 26-year-old said he couldn’t wait to meet the nominees and their families at the glitzy award ceremony at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel.
“It is important to encourage the young, regardless of what they are doing,” he told the Daily Record.
"These kids show amazing courage and they are so mature. Some of the things they cope with are incredible.
"Their belief in themselves is inspiring - and they still smile no matter what happens to them.”
He added: “One of the best things about being a pop star is that me being there helps them to have a better time. You can change people's lives and make their day - I love it.
“I hope I can add something to it for them, that they enjoy the performance and they like me when we meet."
Joining Olly Murs with an X-tra special performance is Shayne Ward. New girl band Wonderland will also take to the stage to make sure the Young Scots have a great night.
Radio Clyde DJ Romeo will host the night as 14 awards ranging from sports to volunteering to entertainment will be presented to the youth nominees.
WE KINDA WANT TO BE IN A GIRL BAND NOW TOO!
Louis Walsh's new girl band Wonderland - aka Sharon Condon, Corrina Durran, Leigh Learmont, Kasey Smith, and Kian from Westlife's wife Jodie Albert - have certainly been busy bees lately!
After touring with Westlife, recording their debut album, and jetting off to an amazingly gorge location in LA to film the vid for latest single Not A Love Song, we're surprised they're still standing.
But still strutting in their heels they are - which is just as well! - and the lovely things that they are, the Wonderland girls have given us some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of them making their first ever music video!
What do you think of Wonderland? Like Not A Love Song? Comments please!
